Rally Obedience is a dog sport that promotes the handler-dog relationship. ATTITUDE
is key in Rally O. FUN is the objective.
In Rally O handlers and dogs work together in a single, continuous performance uninterrupted by commands from a judge.
This requires sustained communication between dog and handler, therefore handlers may talk, give hand and body signals, and
generally encourage dogs throughout the performance.
In Canada Rally O is supported by the Canadian Association of Rally Obedience
(CARO) and the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC). Dogs can earn Novice (RN), Advanced (RA), Excellent
(RA), and Versatility titles (V). CARO includes, and encourages, participation of ALL dogs, purebred, mixed breed,
disabled dogs, as well as physically challenged handlers. APDT, the Association of Pet Dog Trainers,
is an American-based organization also very involved in RallyO in Canada.
